Award-winning auteur filmmaker, Zoran Dragelj possesses a unique postmodern voice and poetic style that recognizes the complexity of perspective, while respectfully maintaining the fundamental validity of our emotional lives. His innovation of form and content, media and context, mark an exciting career in the motion pictures.

1. MOVING PLATES (1996)

Exploring many different techniques of filmmaking in an award winning Moving Plates, Zoran Dragelj uses original and manipulated found footage. He also re-shot, cross processed and opticaly printed the footage to create a visual tone poem.

2. SPALATO (2000)

Spalato is a delirious experimental short that uses a variety of filmic techniques to create an intimate portrait of the filmmaker's visit his birthplace, Split, Croatia. The short opens with pixilation shot of Split's 1700-year-old Diocletian Palace, and from there we go…

3. MEMORIES OF SIMULACRA (2000)

Memories of Simulacra is a two and a half minute visual painting and toning film that turns the filmmaker's manipulation of film stock into a progression of lines, shapes and explosions of colour. Done in two stages, in first stage Zoran exposed and overexposed film stock with number of inspirational sources for film's look. The second stage was camera less process of creating the visuals by dying the exposed stock into a colour dye bath creating raw and brash colours.

Memories of Simulacra is an amalgamation of all the techniques Zoran had learned and employed in past projects, including previous films Scrapbook II and award winning films Moving Plates and Simulacra . Working on Memories of Simulacra , Zoran was creating images using numerous techniques, like toning, airbrushing, scratching coloured film and it's emulsion, creating a distinctive film look.

4. SIMULACRA (1998)

Zoran Dragelj's Simulacra , a two minute award winning visual painting and toning film which turns the filmmaker's manipulation of film stock into a progression of lines, shapes and explosions of colour and form set to a rhythmic pulsing soundtrack done by Steven Brekelmans.

Simulacra is done in two stages as well. In first stage Zoran exposed and overexposed filmstock with number of inspirational sources for film's look. The second stage is the cameraless process of creating the visuals by dying the exposed stock into a colour dye bath creating raw and bold colours.

5. BLEUPHORIE (2002)


Bleuphorie, is a music video for a French-Canadian composer Michel DeMars. The video premiered on Bravo Chanel.
