Welcome to the 2012-13 winter issue of BST Journal. In this issue we have a very strong collection of papers that reflect current thinking across a wide spectrum of the performing arts. In addition to papers BST19 also carries some very stimulating reviews and commentaries. These sections of the Journal, while not refereed, continue to offer distinctly original voices and opinions and, as such, form a valuable independent documentation of various contemporary art practices. We hope as ever that you find the contents of this issue interesting and relevant to your own work. BST remains passionate to be part of current debates and ongoing creative practices across a wide range of performance work.

In this issue we welcome our new Sub-Editor Imogene Newland who has done a fantastic job in editing copy for this publication.

We look forward to receiving new material from regular and new contributors in our forthcoming issues.
